Welcome to Bearded Geology! This is an irregularly updated blog by me, Noah Morris, and my beard, on geologic curiosities and happenstances that I encounter. My beard and I are both PhD students at the University of Arkansas specializing in the formation of Mississippi Valley-type (MVT) lead-zinc (Pb-Zn) ore deposits and their potential relationship with black shales. I am also interested in stratigraphy, sedimentary geology, petroleum geology, geochemistry, and historical geology.
In the “Projects” page are ongoing web-based projects I have been working on that are publicly accessible. Included on the “Course Materials” page are extracurricular material for some of the labs that I have taught. In the “My Bookshelf” page, is a list of geological books that I have acquired (including a few I have yet to read) and am always looking for other interesting books related to geology.
